Egypt Museum & Pyramids

We started today at the Egyptian Museum, the location of King Tut’s treasures and ancient remains. We have a wonderful native tour guide who made the ancient history come alive and continued to provide the Biblical context. We then saw three different pyramids, each with their three little pyramids for the king’s wives. (All these pyramids were built before Abraham came to Egypt.) We crossed the Nile River several times. We had a fascinating demonstration on how papyrus paper is made. Since one person on the tour had a birthday, we were treated to Egyptian birthday cake (very sweet pastry). Traffic in Egypt is very interesting – no stoplights, speed limits, seatbelts, yield signs or traffic control. Everyone just goes down the road honking their horn to warn people to get out of their way. (Lois is glad Jim didn’t rent a car here – he might have had too much fun!)
